it was just months before
she found herself at the end of the road.
why didn't they let her do what she wanted,
why didn't they let her discover her love,
why didn't they let her expose her talent?

she couldn't answer.
no,she couldn't.
she envied the kids on the streets
when she travelled along the serpentine road,
sitting on a plush couch in her carriage.

she admired the way
fathers put their children on their shoulders,
giving their tired little legs a rest.
she admired the kids who could
run wildly,weaving through legs,
playing a game of catch.

she coveted their childhood.
she wanted memories like they would
have when they grew up.
she yearned for it,
longed for memories more than anything else.
